Meet Stephanie

Experience

I have twenty-three years of experience in the healthcare arena as a Laboratory Technologist. I received both my bachelor and graduate degrees from the University of Florida. I have a B.S. in Health Science Rehabilitation Counseling and a minor in Health Science Education. My master’s degree is in Public Health. My goal is to provide health information to educate people about their health and wellness; which give them the tools to make choices to improve their lifestyle.

Motto:

Educate communities about their health today; to have a better quality of life tomorrow.

Mission:

Provide health information to all communities to help individuals make informed decisions about their healthcare and lifestyle.

Meeting communities where they are to empower and motivate healthy behavior

Academic Career

I completed my master’s degree in public health at the University of Florida, specializing in Community Health Education. In my academic career as a master’s student; my coursework included: epidemiology, biostatistics, policy and procedures, community health, and program planning. I was the Principle Investigator for my research project: “Exercise and Diabetes”.My research project consisted of creating a questionnaire for diabetic patients. Shands at UF Medical Plaza Type II Diabetic Clinic was the facility that was used to interview the patients. Drs. Lawrence Kennedy and Claire-Salazar were the physicians I worked with and they allowed me to speak to their patients after their doctor’s visit. The purpose of the data collection was to correlate the benefits of exercise in patients with Type II diabetes. Also, the questionnaire revealed the level of patient compliance and long term physical activity.

Dr. Elizabeth Swett was my academic supervisor for this project and she was very pleased with the work I completed.

Business Career

I started my health education business upon graduation almost 5 years ago. Since that time I have made major strides in providing health education for corporations, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and churches (ministries, religious organizations, faith-base initiatives within companies).

I have 23 years of experience in healthcare as a Laboratory Technologist and 5 years as a Health Educator; 16 of those years I worked in Women’s Health. I provide knowledge about diseases and their process in the body. I believe people should be proactive in every area of their lives; especially in the area of health.
